Sheila Dogan

Ms. Dogan comes with over 20 years of experience in Nonprofits Administration, Community Development, Grassroot Organizing, Business Administration, and Political Engagement. Sheila has worked in social justice and is passionate about empowering others to think outside the box and taking ownership of their situation. “My job satisfaction is based on what I can do to help the human conditions. Everyone deserves equal economic, political, and social rights and opportunities. I find contentment in helping others, particularly those with the greatest Human Needs (physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization). I am extremely excited about my new role as Executive Director for Beyond Housing SC, and doing my part in helping alleviate the disparity that currently exists in affordable housing.”

How does affordable housing affect us?

Millions of people have housing costs they can’t afford. As a result, they don’t have enough monthly income left over to pay for food, transportation, health care, and other essential living expenses. They may also be one missed paycheck away from eviction or foreclosure.

Role of a Non-Profits Board of Directors

board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance its mission.
